SPENCERVILLE, OHIO (WLIO) - The Spencerville VFW and Spencerville Fire Department teamed up to help raise money for some needed equipment.
The Spencerville VFW and Spencerville Fire Department teamed up to help raise money for some needed equipment.
People in the Spencerville community got the new year off on the right foot with pancakes and sausage. This is the first time they held a fundraiser on New Year’s Day, and the money raised will help the firefighters get new MARCS radios, which are expected to cost the department around $200,000.
“They are all going to be outdated this year, and we have to replace all of our radios. So, it’s quite the cost, and they are going to help us out with fundraising today with this pancake and sausage day,” says Chief Doug Lowry, Spencerville Fire Department.
The Invincible Fire Company will be holding their Annual Fireman’s Dance on Saturday, January 18th, at the Spencerville VFW from 7 to 11 pm. There will be live music, door prizes, and raffles. The cost is $15 a person at the door.
