LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Medical professionals from across the region are invited to attend Lima Memorial Health System’s annual Heart Summit, an event designed to share new and innovative information about heart health and treatment.

The summit aims to reach health care providers who regularly work with cardiac patients. The program includes more than a dozen 15-minute presentations covering topics such as calcium scores, cardiac MRIs and other advances in cardiac care.

Organizers say hosting the summit locally makes it more accessible and beneficial for area providers.

Dr. Pamela Gardner, a cardiologist with Lima Memorial Health System, says the convenience of the event is a major advantage.

“We normally have to take a day off from work, pay go somewhere, pay for the conference, pay for the hotel. This is right here. It's four hours, it's no charge. And good, good, strong topics.”

The Heart Summit will also offer continuing education credits and is free to attend.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Galvin Hall on The Ohio State University at Lima campus.
