LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Lima City Schools’ Summer Lunch Program had a fun surprise for the kids. The Spartan Lunch Express made a stop at Faurot Park, bringing along a special guest — "Munch," the Ohio mascot for the summer lunch program.

Munch joined the children as they enjoyed their meals, adding some extra excitement to the day. The program provides free hot meals to children ages 1 to 18, and organizers were pleased to see so many families come out to take part.

"This is so exciting to see all the families coming out and participating. Today was a special day. We had munch the Ohio mascot for the summer lunch program. And we just want to celebrate the summer lunch program. We have four sites that are eat in. We also have the sites that are here at the park," said Carrie Woodruff, director of food service with Lima City Schools.
