Media Release from Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (June 27, 2025 10:22 am)
Marion Township – On June 26, 2025, at approximately 6:37 P.M. troopers with the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash on Redd Rd. near Mericle Rd. in Marion Township, Allen County, Ohio.
Zackery M. Finn, age 27, of Lima, was operating a 2020 Chevrolet Impala northbound on Redd Rd. when the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle re-entered the road and then went off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a tree, rolled over and caught fire.
Nearby citizens were able to push the car over and help extricate Mr. Finn from the vehicle. Mr. Finn was transported by Delphos Fire and Rescue to St. Rita’s-Mercy Health in Lima for life-threatening injuries. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
Assisting troopers on scene were deputies with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, Delphos Fire and Rescue and Jim Schmidt Towing. The crash remains under investigation.

ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) - A vehicle catches fire after it strikes a tree in rural Allen County Thursday night.
The Delphos fire department was called out to the 8400 Block of Redd Road at 6:37 p.m. on Thursday. Officials there tell us a Male driver wrecked, his car rolling into the woods. The car flipped over on the driver's side, pinning the driver inside as the vehicle caught on fire. Bystanders were able to push the car back over and pull the driver out. He was taken to St. Rita's Medical Center with what were described as life-threatening injuries. There was no one else in the car. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
