Veterans Appreciation Car Cruise-In returns to Faurot Park on July 4

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Classic cars, custom trucks and patriotic vehicles will once again roll into Faurot Park as the annual Veterans Appreciation Car Cruise-In returns on Independence Day.

The free event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. July 4 at Faurot Park as part of the Star Spangled Spectacular and America's 250th anniversary festivities.

The cruise-in welcomes a variety of vehicles, including classic cars, customized trucks and other unique rides. Organizers say the event offers car enthusiasts an opportunity to showcase their vehicles while honoring the men and women who have served in the U.S. military.

Chiles-Laman Funeral Home sponsors the annual event and is encouraging anyone with a vehicle to participate.

"We enjoy ourselves so much. All the people that come out with the cars and and the spectators also. It's a great time for everyone. Anything that has wheels that they can get down there or more than welcome to have them," says Bob Laman, Chiles-Laman Funeral Home.

There is no cost to enter the cruise-in, although donations are welcome. Awards will be presented to vehicles selected by the judges.

The Veterans Appreciation Car Cruise-In runs from noon to 4 p.m. on July 4 at Faurot Park.
