LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Four local professionals are being recognized not only for their career success, but for their efforts to shape the future of the Lima area.

After finding success out of college with a large construction firm, Justin Walter returned to Lima to join his family’s business, Trisco Systems. Walter quickly advanced to sales department manager, where he has contributed to the company’s recent revenue growth. He has also launched several initiatives aimed at long-term success, including the creation of a state-of-the-art employee training center, outreach efforts with area vocational and career technical programs, and a professional development program for employees.

Jessica Cunningham’s leadership journey has taken her from a frontline role to executive director of nursing at Lima Memorial Health System. In that position, she has taken on responsibility for improving quality, operations and workforce development. Cunningham has helped develop programs designed to improve patient outcomes and care at the hospital. Beyond her professional role, she co-created the “Listen to Your Heart” initiative, which promotes heart health among elementary school students. She also mentors emerging leaders and works to strengthen workforce pipelines and community partnerships.

Rylan Ward, marketing manager at Thermal Gard Window and Door, is also being recognized for his leadership. Since graduating college in 2018, Ward has held several roles that have helped shape his leadership approach. Outside of work, he is active in his church, serving on the board and as part of the usher and security team. He also seeks out opportunities to learn from other leaders and remains committed to community involvement.

Samuel White Jr., communications adviser for Cenovus Energy’s Lima refinery, believes leadership is defined by impact and opportunity. In his role, he works to strengthen relationships between the company, its employees and the surrounding community. White serves on several local boards, including the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Greater Lima. He is also active in his church and contributes to volunteer and fundraising efforts for the West Ohio Food Bank and Our Daily Bread. White focuses on inspiring the next generation and helping ensure a brighter future for the community.
