The construction equipment that's been sitting idle outside of the American Mall is finally moving. Â
After months of delays, demolition has begun at the American Mall. Â The once vibrant retail location has been vacant since the Anderson's left in 2009. Â The site is owned by the Youngstown-based Cafaro Company. Â Cafaro first announced demolition was set to begin in September. Â
However, company spokesmen previously told Your News Now demolition was delayed due to asbestos removal in the building. Â
The site is expected to be cleared by March of 2014. Â
