American Mall demolition begins

The construction equipment that's been sitting idle outside of the American Mall is finally moving.

After months of delays, demolition has begun at the American Mall.  The once vibrant retail location has been vacant since the Anderson's left in 2009.  The site is owned by the Youngstown-based Cafaro Company.  Cafaro first announced demolition was set to begin in September.

However, company spokesmen previously told Your News Now demolition was delayed due to asbestos removal in the building.

The site is expected to be cleared by March of 2014.
