The American Red Cross and Dominion Energy teamed up to quiz Chief Supermarket shoppers on their safety savvy.
The duo held a Preparedness Day in at the Cable Road Chief Supermarket, where they spend a couple of hours seeing how much shoppers knew about their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and the warning signs and symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning.
"The biggest thing is, we want everybody in the community to be prepared," said Derek Stemen, Exec. Director of the American Red Cross. "Whether they're checking out our emergency preparedness apps, getting a free first aid kit or free smoke alarm that we prepare, we just want everybody to be prepared for emergencies."
After their quiz, shoppers were gifted free first aid kits full of supplies and information that could come handy in an emergency.
