An Indiana woman killed in a two-vehicle crash in Mercer County Saturday night

According to Sheriff Jeff Grey, the crash happened just after 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 118 and Frahm Pike.

ROCKFORD, OHIO (WLIO) - An Indiana woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in rural Mercer County Saturday night. According to Sheriff Jeff Grey, the crash happened just after 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 118 and Frahm Pike. 74-year-old Keith Huey of Geneva, Indiana, was traveling west on Frahm Pike when he failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled in front of an SUV driven by 57-year-old July Ninde of Ossian, Indiana. Huey passenger 59-year-old Regina Huey was killed in the crash. Keith Huey and Ninde were taken to the hospital for treatment. The crash reconstruction team is still investigating the crash. This is the second fatal crash in Mercer County on Saturday. An Indianman was killed in a crash at the intersection of State Routes 49 and 707 Saturday morning.

Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey reports that deputies are investigating a second fatal traffic crash that occurred on Saturday, September 7th.  Mercer County Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call at 7:42 PM of a crash at the intersection of St Rte 118 and Frahm Pike in Hopewell Township.

 The investigation revealed that Keith T Huey (74) of Geneva, IN was driving a 2000 silver Ford F150 pickup truck, traveling westbound on Frahm Pike.   Julie A Ninde (57) of Ossian, IN was driving a 2014 blue Honda CR-V SUV, traveling northbound on St Rte 118.  Huey failed to stop for the stop sign on Frahm Pike at St Rte 118 and was struck by the SUV.  Mr Huey was transported to Mercer Health ER for treatment.  He had a front seat passenger, Regina K Huey (59) of Geneva, IN who was pronounced deceased on the scene.  Ms Ninde, the driver of the SUV, was transported to Mercer Health ER for treatment. 

Assisting at the scene were members of the Rockford Fire Department, Rockford EMS, Celina Fire Department, Celina EMS, and MCERV.    

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team was called to the scene.  This crash remains under investigation at this time and will be forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
