Artist working on new mural in Pandora

The artist responsible for murals found in nearly every Putnam County village is at it again.

The Pandora Chamber of Commerce asked longtime artist and mural expert, Oscar Velasquez, if he could add a little art on Main Street. Velasquez, a Gilboa native, gladly accepted and is currently putting the final touches on his painting of Riley Creek. The setting takes place on a bridge located at the Pandora Park, overlooking the creek. Even though painting a mural can take a number of weeks, Velasquez says it doesn't feel like work when you're doing what you love.

"I used to put in about ten, twelve hours a day so I start at seven in the morning and finish at seven at night. I think that people can come by and look at it and watch me paint. It doesn't bother me, I'm used to have people watching while I paint and commenting on it which is fine with me," commented Velasquez.

Velasquez expects the painting to be completed by Wednesday or Thursday this week, so you still have time to watch him work on his masterpiece before it's complete.
