It was a busy day for Mercer County rescue officials after a second fatal accident crash Wednesday afternoon.
67-year-old Nicholas Hemmelgarn of Coldwater was killed while riding his bicycle south on the bike path between Celina and Coldwater just before 4 p.m. Deputies say he failed to yield while crossing St. Anthony Road and was hit by a westbound car driven by 32-year-old Wallace McGough of Celina.The driver was not injured. Officers were helped at the scene by EMS and fire crews from Coldwater.
The crash remains under investigation.
