LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — While parents wrapped up last-minute holiday errands, the Bradfield Community Center gave local children a chance to enjoy some seasonal fun.

The center hosted its fourth annual Christmas Drop-In, welcoming about 50 children for food, holiday-themed activities, and a visit with Santa. Each child also went home with one or more gifts. Organizers say the event is made possible through the continued support of local organizations and community members, helping reinforce to children that they are cared for.

Bradfield Community Center hosts Annual Christmas Drop-In for local kids

We like to thank Toys for Tots for some of the stuff that we got. We had some private donors. Mercy Health Foundation gave us coats and things. So, this is a community project, collaboration with others to make this thing successful. And what we're hoping, it helps the parents. The parents want to go out and do some last minute shopping, they can go out and the kids get here and have a little bit of fun. And again, we just want to make sure that people know that Bradfield Center is still a community center that we offer these type of things that people can come up and enjoy themselves," says Chris Jackson, Ex. Dir. Bradfield Community Center.
