A local community center is calling on people to support children in their area for the price of a bit of chicken.

The Bradfield Community Center held a chicken carry out fundraiser to help raise money for their summer program. After a period of not being able to offer summer activities for children in our area, the center was able to bring the program back last year so that kids can continue to grow outside of their schools.

"Summer programs are something to keep the kids active during the summer," said Bradfield Exec. Director Kesha Drake. "A lot of parents still have to work so finding something for your kids to still do, a little bit of education, a little bit of fun, all day and you know they're in a safe environment. That gives parents peace."

Bradfield is hoping to turn this into a quarterly fundraiser to help support their programs.
