LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Democratic Senate candidate Tim Ryan making a stop in northwest Ohio today to discuss drug addiction recovery.
Ryan visited BrightView Recovery Clinic for a roundtable discussion on the opioid epidemic in Ohio and what recovery efforts look like. He says that he believes that a lot of money is being put into recovery services here in Ohio but that we're not seeing the results that we should be seeing and that addiction recovery is a topic that he has been working on for several years now.
“I am the co-chair of the Addiction Treatment Recovery Caucus, and I have been for many years,” Ryan said, “I’ve been trying to craft legislation around addiction issues starting with opiates and heroin now we have fentanyl everywhere and meth - so how do we keep this junk out of our country, and also how do we help people that are already dealing with addiction? This is a main priority for me, and I think it’s directly linked to the economy too.”
Ryan is running against Republican J.D. Vance for the Senate seat in the November election.
