Artists and shoppers were in downtown Lima Friday afternoon for the Chalk Walk and Sidewalk Sales.
Several downtown businesses had sales outside of their stores for people to check out as they walked and people participating in the Chalk Walk were assigned sections of the sidewalks to create pieces of art. One downtown business owner says that all of these activities are changing the way that people are visiting downtown Lima.
"It's wonderful to see so many people, getting here early in the morning until late at night now, it's almost a 24 hour downtown because the restaurants are open late, open in the afternoon, open the evening, so you can come down and shop, then come back later and have dinner with your husband, have a good time downtown," said Elizabeth Leis, co-owner of Nitza's.
The Chalk Walk continues Saturday. To participate, contact Nitza's to pre-register.
