LIMA, OHIO (WLIO) - Cherry rides, tricked-out trucks, and motorcycles are just some of the reasons why the annual Charity Car Show is so special.
It was a perfect day for the event; around 250 vehicles were on display at the Apollo Career Center. The car show brings people from all around to admire the hard work that car lovers put into their vehicles. While they were there, people could enter raffles and a 50/50 drawing, and all the proceeds from the event went to local nonprofits like the Veterans Food Pantry, Crossroads Crisis Center, and All Starr Pets. The organizers were thrilled at how the car community turned out.
“We love it. We love it. Everyone gets along. There is great friendship between all the car guys and everything. It’s a really tight-knit community. All you have to do is look around. It’s great. Everybody is having a good time; there is people just everywhere; it’s just awesome. This is probably the best show we have done yet, and we have been doing this for 18 years,” says John Waller, Chairman, Charity Car Show.
Waller says now that it is over, the board will sit down and see what nonprofits they can help. They hope to hand out their checks in a few weeks.
