BOWLING GREEN — Ottawa-Glandorf advanced to the regional final with a 1-0 victory over Liberty-Benton in a Division 4 regional semifinal on Thursday night.
The match was scoreless at the break as both teams relied on defense. Liberty-Benton junior keeper Libbie Niese made a key save on an early chance by Addi Tiell, and the Eagles’ Rylie Grant later stopped a bid from Emma Heringhaus to keep the game level.
Ottawa-Glandorf broke the deadlock in the second half when the Titans were awarded a penalty after a Liberty-Benton hand ball. Senior Karysn Erford stepped to the spot and buried the shot into the top left corner, the lone goal of the match.
Ottawa-Glandorf will seek a fifth straight trip to the state tournament when it faces Niles McKinley on Saturday in Sandusky.
