Cable Road between Latham Avenue and College Park West is set to see several changes, and the city is looking for your input on the proposed plans. The section of road is only half a mile but sees a mix of transportation needs that includes bicycles and pedestrians along with vehicles. There is a proposed center median from Latham to Windsor, similar to Elida Road's, sidewalks on both the east and west sides of Cable Road, and converting Cable Road to three lanes with a center turn lane from Windsor Drive to College Park West.

"That area of Cable Road has a disproportionate number of serious injury and fatal crashes. So, we're looking to improve vehicular safety. Also, that section of road, it doesn't have any sidewalks. So that area has a really strong mixture of both residential and commercial, and we want to improve mobility and connectivity for pedestrians," explained Ian Kohli, City of Lima.
