LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Most of us are doing our best to stay warm during this cold winter stretch.
Medical experts at Lima Memorial tell us to layer up if we have to go outside and play it safe.
The frigid weather conditions raise concerns of hypothermia, which is only made worse when we don't dress warmly enough, get our clothes wet, or stay outside too long. Medical experts at Lima Memorial tell us to layer up if we have to go outside and play it safe.
"Wearing plenty of layers, staying dry, trying to avoid any activity outside where you are going to be sweating a lot because that sweat is going to get cold, and that would eventually make your body colder. And then you know, be responsible. A lot of times when we see people with hypothermia, it's because they are intoxicated or something like that, and then they get stuck outside, and that's when it gets a little more serious," added Physician Assistant Makenzie Mansfield.
It's a good reminder to remain patient with the staff at your nearby hospital.
