The Allen County Commissioners are sending off one of their own on a high note during his last agenda meeting.
Commissioner Greg Sneary was honored with a resolution of appreciation for his service to the county. Sneary will be retiring from his position when the month ends next week. Sneary says the week has been no different as he continues to work up to the last minute. But as he nears closer to retirement he starts to reflect on the last 17 years as commissioner.
He says his most proud accomplishment is eliminating the county's general fund debt. He's also reflected on all the different people he's gotten to work with.
"A lot of different commissioners over the years and what have you," Sneary said. "So, a lot of different personalities, a lot of different thoughts and-- everybody I think the one thing that's really clear though is we got a lot of good employees. And I think everybody really truly does try to do the best job they can. And I'm impressed with that, I mean, I will tell you that. So, it's--when you see county employees whether it's sheriff's deputies or whatever it is, you should appreciate what they do."
Sneary plans to do some traveling while he's in good health, as well as enjoy some family time.
