Guests could walk through two buildings turned into a museum showcasing the history of the hospital and medical technology.

The event was hosted at the Allen County Fairgrounds as a nod to the fact that Lima Memorial's current location is the former site of the fairgrounds. Guests could walk through two buildings turned into a museum showcasing the history of the hospital and medical technology.

"Our team's put together a great history of the 125 years from the very beginning with the first president of the hospital all the way through to the current time. There's a heart and lung machine in here; there's an ambulance. All those things are part of our history in terms of who and what we are, and it's amazing when you look at the pictures and what's changed over the years," explained Mike Swick, president and CEO of Lima Memorial Health System.

The evening also included a live auction and a fund-a-need paddle raise. All donations will be spent investing in the hospital.

Lima Memorial was created with money raised by the community, and many of the services they offer today are still made possible by their donors.

"We've been able to update and create a new inpatient rehabilitation center that's state of the art. We've also created a new inpatient dialysis center that's providing treatment for our patients right in the hospital. We've also established a chronic disease management program," said Jan Hawk, the chair of the Lima Memorial Foundation Board.
