Lions, tigers, and zebras. Those are just a few of the things some lucky Lima children got to see on Thursday.

25 kids attending the Mizpah Community Center Summer Camp Program headed to the Toledo Zoo on Thursday morning. The center wanted to provide the children with a nice field trip before the camp was over but finances were tight. The center's director took to Facebook asking the community to help. The donations started to pour in.

"Lima loves their children, they're invested in their children, and we had different people. We had churches, we had organizations, we had just some everybody, everyday people donated money so that we were able to go," said Mary Monford, Mizpah Community Center director.

"I'm hoping to see some lions an elephants and polar bears," said Nevah Gulley.

"Polar bear because they live in the coldness, they live in the arctic and I want to live in the arctic," said Taejon Pearson.

"I want to see a zebra," said Amina Rose.

Monford wants to thank those who made a donation and supported their programming.
