ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Have you ever wondered what people do with all the ribbons they win at the fair? Well, the Open Class exhibition has challenged people to get creative with them.
You will find Hall's quilt and all the other Open Class projects in the Fine Arts Building at the north end of the fairgrounds.
The only rule is to take any type of fair ribbon and make something special out of them. That's just what Jeanette Hall did and won Best of Show. She has been showing at the Allen County Fair since she was a kid and wanted to incorporate all she has experienced in this quilt.

"Well, I started right after the fair last year, and I drew it up on paper, kind of what I wanted to do, and I started on it. Then I thought, Oh, this is an awful lot of work, whether I want to do it or not. I'm 89 years old, and I kind of put it back. Then I got it back out in June and decided if I was going to do it, I would have to get at it. I finished it about a week before the fair," explained Jeanette Hall, who won Best of Show in the Ribbon Challenge.
