Press Release by Ohio811.org: VAN WERT, OHIO – Crestview Local Schools and Vantage Career Center student Gavin Grubb wins the Heavy Equipment Operations category in SkillsUSA Ohio. Gavin will now head to Atlanta, Georgia to compete nationally at the SkillsUSA Leadership & Skills Conference on June 26-27, 2024.

OHIO811 is honored to be the first 8-1-1 Notification Center in the country who is part of SkillsUSA, providing underground damage prevention education in the Heavy Equipment Operations category.
Gavin Grubb, Crestview Local Schools, plans to become a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers and chose Vantage Career Center for his construction and heavy equipment education. He attributes Vantage Career Center for the skill and safety experience he gained and shares that having OHIO811 as part of SkillsUSA taught him more about underground utilities and damage prevention skills.
