A home in Cridersville is assumed to be a total loss after an early morning fire.
The Cridersville Fire Department responded to a residential fire just after 4:30 this morning in the 300 block of West Sugar Street. Upon arrival, the structure was fully involved. Thankfully, no residents were home at the time. Moderate heat damage also occurred in the two adjacent homes to the structure. The Buckland Fire Department provided mutual aid at the scene. The Shawnee Fire Investigator was also called out to assist.
We didn't see the flames that melted her house, but we seen the flames and it was terrible, it was just unbelievable. The fire department did a fine job on protecting her house and that house, they did a great job," says Rick Allen, a nearby neighbor who was born and raised in this very house.
An investigation is underway to determine what started the fire.
