BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio (WLIO) — A Lakeview man was sentenced to 125 to 130.5 years in prison for shooting at officers during a police standoff in 2024.

Holley Toliver, 58, was sentenced in Logan County Common Pleas Court on 22 charges, including felonious assault and firing on police officers for an incident at his home in August 2024.

Law enforcement was called to his home after reports of Toliver shooting from his house and striking neighbor’s homes. He refused to open the door for officers. Neighbors were evacuated, and additional law enforcement was called in.

Toliver fired on law enforcement after they deployed tear gas and a drone.  The Marysville Special Response Team attempted to enter using flash grenades, but Tolliver fired at them.

After hours of negotiations, officers returned fire, striking Toliver and breaking his arm. He was taken into custody and treated for his injuries. No officers or residents were injured by gunfire during the incident.
