VAN WERT, Ohio (WLIO) — A Michigan man was sentenced to five years in prison for child pornography charges in Van Wert County.
Timothy Kiester, 61, pleaded guilty to two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor and one count of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material. The other 12 charges he was facing were dropped as part of the guilty plea.
According to the indictment, the material was discovered following the fatal crash on October 21, 2024, which killed Zachary Wood and Logan Elder, both of Van Wert County. Wood’s car was stopped to turn when Kiester, who was driving a pickup pulling a camper, ran into the back of Wood’s car, pushing it into the path of an oncoming semi.
Kiester was sentenced to 90 days in jail for the fatal crash.
