COLUMBUS, Ohio (WLIO) – Two men will remain in prison for the 1990 murder of former Bath High School student Ryan Young. Richard Joseph, 53, and Jose Bulerin, 73, were denied parole by the Ohio Parole Board.
Richard Joseph, 53, and Jose Bulerin, 73, were denied parole by the Ohio Parole Board.
Back in 1990, Bulerin and Joseph stabbed Young to death and buried his body in a quarry in Auglaize County. Joseph was given the death penalty, but his sentence was overturned by a federal judge because of a mistake in the indictment, and he was given life in prison with a chance of parole.
Bulerin took a deal to testify against Joseph and pleaded guilty to aggravated murder. The possibility of a death sentence was taken off the table. Now he is eligible for parole.
The next scheduled parole hearings are set for January 2030.
