LIMA, OH (WLIO) - For the 11th year, Daddys at Work helped some families out for Christmas. Dozens came out to their annual Breakfast with Santa for a free pancake meal, and each kid at the event also went home with a present. To end the afternoon, children had a chance to receive 1 of 50 bicycles that were donated to be raffled off. Daddys at Work sees a need in the community that they work with, and they want to do whatever they can to give back to those parents who are struggling.
"We had a couple families here that, and every year we see those families, that they have 10, 11, 12-year-olds that have never rode a bike, never got a bike. So we tried to fit that need. And also with the prices of everything, it's hard to make sure that your kid gets a Christmas gift," explained Thomas Smith, the founder of Daddys at Work.
Breakfast with Santa is just one of many events hosted throughout the year in the spirit of their motto, "Children first, in all things."
