DELPHOS, OH (WLIO) - The Delphos community pulled up their lawn chairs to enjoy live music.
Sunday evening was the first of six concerts for the Delphos Rotary Club's 19th annual Music in the Park. The series features a mix of local bands and some from as far as Cleveland and Indiana. Each night, a different non-profit sells concessions to raise money for their organization, and the shows are always free thanks to over a dozen local sponsors. Many Delphos residents make it a tradition to get the family together for every show.
"Like any community, it's nice to have people be able to get together and enjoy themselves. The discussion was that if we charged for it, that would limit the number of people, so we came up with the idea of having community sponsors," said JoAn Smith of the Delphos Rotary Club.
Music in the Park is held every other Sunday at 6 p.m. through August.
