Donations for a New Display

A donation given to the Allen County Veterans Council was put partly to use Thursday at the council headquarters.

The Allen County Veterans installed a new display case thanks to the donation of $13,000 from Allen Nott.  That display will hold memorabilia from different groups of the Allen County veterans.  600 dollars also went towards each group.

The Allen County Veterans are pleased with the additional funds to continue to serve the community of veterans in the area.

"It was very much a surprise, but it has enabled every one of the groups to be able to do a little bit more then what they normally would for veterans that belong to our groups.  It just gives us a little more flexibility by having a little more in our treasuries," said Steve Montgomery, chairman of the Allen County Veterans Council.

$1,200 From the donation was given to the Veterans Food Pantry.
