ALLEN COUNTY (WLIO) - Allen County election officials want people to get out and vote for what was not on the primary ballot in May.

August 2nd is an election day and polls will be open for voters to cast a ballot for state central committee members and state representatives. This is all because of the debate around congressional district maps that the Ohio Supreme Court has ruled unconstitutional. Election officials just want people to remember their vote counts and even though this election is unusual they need to cast their vote.

"Voting will be as normal, it's just held in August instead of May and the ballot is short it won't take you long to vote. So we encourage you to get out and cast your ballot," explained Kathy Meyer, Director at Allen County Board of Elections.

Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2nd
