“Everyone will have at least two issues on their ballot,” said Morgan Bode, director of the Allen County Board of Elections. “After that, it depends what district you live in, whether you'll have anything else. There is a countywide issue, and there’s also State Issue 2.”

The Allen County Board of Elections wants to remind people of the petition deadline for the May primary. With it being an off-year election, voters will be deciding who will be representing them at the county and municipal level. So anyone interested in running for those seats must get their petitions signed and submitted by Wednesday, February 5th, to be on the ballot.

Many important decisions are to be made on the November election ballot, including Issue One regarding gerrymandering. The We Are Ohio group and Union Strong held a community meeting today to talk about Issue One and its importance regarding fair voting districts. Several speakers voiced their opinions, including the president of the Ohio State Association of Letter Carriers, Jeff Kranz, who spoke about the importance of absentee and mail-in ballots.
