LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Voters hoping to cast their ballots early for Tuesday’s primary have just a few opportunities left, as early voting hours wind down ahead of Election Day.
While this year’s election is considered an off-year with fewer items on the ballot, officials say there are still important decisions to be made.
County boards of elections will remain open until 7:30 p.m. Friday for early voting, and will also offer weekend hours for registered voters.

“Everyone will have at least two issues on their ballot,” said Morgan Bode, director of the Allen County Board of Elections. “After that, it depends what district you live in, whether you'll have anything else. There is a countywide issue, and there’s also State Issue 2.”
Bode explained that the state has adopted a consecutive numbering system for statewide issues to reduce confusion.
“It is State Issue 2 because the state has gone to a consecutive numbering system to avoid confusion over State Issue 1, over and over again. So this one is State Issue 2. The next one, whenever that happens, will be State Issue 3,” she said.
The Allen County Board of Elections will be open Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be no voting on Monday. In-person voting at the polls will take place on Tuesday, May 6, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
