Elida Police Chief says patrols are being increased due to break-ins

A string of break-ins has stretched through the Village of Elida.

Elida Police Chief Dale Metzger said a group of hooded men has allegedly been breaking into cars and garages in the area. Your Hometown Stations has acquired security video of an Elida homeowner showing one of the break-ins. Metzger said this week alone his department has received 7 to 8 calls. The sheriff's office has also received calls.

Metzger said security measures and patrols are being increased.
