A reimbursement could soon come to Elida schools, that were directed away to poor performing Charter schools.Â
That was discussed at Tuesday's school board meeting at Elida High School. According to the agenda, this move would impact local resident's tax payments. In the past 14 years, Elida has transferred almost $9 million to charter schools. Based on the state's share of revenue, that represents a total loss of just over $3 million of Elida's local tax dollars.Â
"Our goal is how much should we focus on legislators and how much on trying to get the community to understand how we are trying to be responsible for their tax dollars and make sure they're used correctly," said Elida school board member Pat Schymanski.
