FINDLAY, OH (WLIO) - An organization has had a grant renewed to continue their mission of improving mental health in northwest Ohio.

Family Resource Center received a grant for four million dollars over a period of four years to continue their mission. They first received the grant in 2020. The funds will be used to expand behavioral health services already offered, such as counseling and therapy, peer support, and case management. The goal is to make mental health services more accessible to more people.

"Some of the key components of that are improving access to care. So in Hancock County, we are able to provide services to anyone across the lifespan, so that's both children and adults, regardless of ability to pay. So it doesn't matter what someone's income level looks like, or what benefits they have, we're able to see them here so that finances isn't a barrier to accessing services," said Maggie Brown, program director.
Family Resource Center has locations all across northwestern Ohio, including Lima. More information about locations and their services can be found on their website.
