Fire damaged American Township home Saturday Morning

AMERCIAN TWP, ALLEN CO., OHIO (WLIO) - One person was taken to the hospital after a morning fire in American Township. The American Township Fire Department was called out to Fraunfelter Road for a working house fire. Firefighters had to go in and rescue one person, who was transported to Mercy Health-St. Rita's for treatment. The fire started in the garage, and there was smoke damage throughout the house. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Delphos, Shawnee, and Lima Fire Departments all provided mutual aid for the fire.
