SHAWNEE TWP., Allen County, Ohio (WLIO) — The Shawnee Township Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire at a home that was under renovation late Saturday night.
Firefighters were called to 2190 S. Wapak Road around midnight after a passerby noticed a possible fire at the residence. No one was inside the home at the time. Shawnee Township firefighters requested mutual aid from the Lima, American Township and Perry Township fire departments to assist with water supply and manpower.
Crews found fire on the first floor of the home and were able to quickly bring the blaze under control. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Because the home was undergoing renovations, officials said it is difficult to determine a financial estimate of the damage.
