A new event will be happening June 2nd in downtown Lima.
Downtown Lima, Inc. is putting on the first of their "First Fridays" - an event that invites Lima citizens to bring their lunch for a meal in the square. There will be live music and activities for kids, as well as special deals from some of the downtown restaurants. It's a way to get people outside and enjoy what downtown has to offer.
"We do have residents down here, so it's to bring them out of the buildings, and enjoy lunch, and check out the downtown restaurants, check out the downtown businesses, summer is just beginning so we want to offer things each month on the first Friday," said Aubree Kaye, executive director of Downtown Lima, Inc.
The "First Friday" event will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the northwest quad of Town Square. Live music and kids activities from the Lima Library will be available. The next of the "First Fridays" is planned for July 7th.
