Flag City Honor Flight will resume trips this year

Area veterans will once again get the chance to take part in the honor flight program this summer.

Flag City Honor Flight will resume trips this year

The Flag City Honor Flight will resume its trips to Washington, D.C. with three flights, after pausing those flights for two years due to the pandemic. The flights this year are set for June 7th, September 13th, and November 1st. Organizers say those who were scheduled to fly in 2021 can be assured they'll be first on the list to go this summer.

Flag City Honor Flight

Honor flights are open to veterans of all eras, but World War II-era veterans are always given priority. Veterans taking the trip will board a bus once they're in the Capitol and visit the World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and air force memorials, as well as visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Arlington National Cemetery.

Veterans and their families can find the application to fly, and learn more at flagcityhonorflight.org.
