Freshmen move into dorms at University of Findlay

New freshmen move into the dorms at the University of Findlay.

Zoey Trombley from Detroit is going to study Animal Science.

So why did she choose Findlay?

“I just like that they have farms on campus so I can actually work with animals and I think that’s really cool,” said Trombley.

The moving in process appears to be organized chaos.

“We like to think of it as fairly organized. There’s lots and lots of people and it’s a really exciting day. We have tons of volunteers here today so that helps us keep things a little more in order,” said Rachel Walter, assistant Dean of Students at the University of Findlay.

Moving in takes a lot of help from student volunteers and staff.

“Our goal is to have our parents and students that are arriving not have to carry any of their boxes up to their room. We have lots of people directing but then lots of people descending upon vehicles as they arrive, grabbing the boxes and getting them into the student’s room so we can get them in and unpacked as quickly as possible,” said Walter.

Enrollment for the new year appears to be down slightly from last year.

“We have a really strong class this year. We obviously had a record year last year. We’re really, really pleased with the numbers that we’ve got for this year,” added Walter.
