LIMA, OHIO (WLIO) - It was barbeque time for the Lima Kiwanis Club, as they sold some food for a good cause.
The club held their annual chicken and ham barbecue, which is their biggest fundraiser. The money supports their various youth programs in area schools, which includes their Builders and K Clubs, which teach kindness and important life skills to young students around Lima. Also, the barbecue proceeds provide checks to other nonprofits that give back to kids.
“We help a lot of charities around town, such as the DARE program. We also have a prom dress giveaway for the kids going to the proms and the homecoming games,” says Brian Ulrey, Lima Kiwanis Club.
The Lima Kiwanis are always looking for new members; to see what they are about, they meet every Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. at the Milano café.
