LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Last week, the University of Northwestern Ohio finalized its purchase of the bar "Harry's Hideaway" on Cable Road.
The university bought the property for $600,000 after the decision was approved by the board last year. The bar will be demolished to make room for a new driveway to the UNOH Event Center and create a 4-way intersection. The rest of the property could be developed for another purpose in the future. The new drive will also include a stoplight to improve traffic flow and safety of the area.
"Currently they have to enter in basically to the north of La Charreada and it's very difficult to get in and get out of. So, being able to have a straightforward intersection at a light, the ability to turn right and left without having to worry about oncoming traffic is nice for the event center patrons," stated Stephanie Malloy, vice president of marketing and public relations at UNOH.
Work on the project is expected to begin this spring.
