LIMA, OHIO (WLIO) - Health resources, community, and fun—all things you would have found at the Civic Center earlier on Saturday.

Activate Allen County held their 6th Healthy Families Expo. With familiar faces, face painting, and even a reindeer, this event gives families many ways to have fun, all while learning more about local health resources.
“We hope they have a lot of fun, but we also want them to engage with our community vendors. Whether it's Mercy Health and getting a health screening, or talking to WIC, or Snap Educators, we have prime victim services and the mental health board here as well. So just a wide variety of potential resources that our residents may need. They may not know they need them, but having those conversations really helps get the word out about what we have here in our community in terms of resources,” says Kayla Monfort, Co-Director of Activate Allen County. “We have a lot of great organizations and nonprofits that really support our residents really well. So, we want that to be the main goal—really getting that information out. But also, at the same time, you got to have fun; you got to have a way for the kids to have a good time while hopefully the parents are getting some resources and learning something."
