COLUMBUS GROVE, OH (WLIO) - With the temperature looking to linger in the 90s all week, it's the perfect time to go for a swim.
During weather like this, the Columbus Grove Municipal Pool is ready to be packed with families trying to stay cool. Wednesdays will be especially busy with their weekly $1 per-person admission special. If you pack the kids up this week to go to the pool, experts recommend reapplying sunscreen every two hours, or more frequently if you're swimming.
"With the water and even being in the pool, you definitely still get sunburnt; I think our lifeguards are noticing that too. I apply every hour, maybe even more," said Ava Bockrath, building supervisor at the Columbus Grove Municipal Pool.
The Columbus Grove pool was constructed by residents without any training in masonry in the 1930s to create jobs and entertainment during the Great Depression. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
