Historical marker to be placed at Wapakoneta Museum

WAPAKONETA, OH (WLIO) - The Auglaize County Historical Society will have a historical marker for the Wapakoneta Museum. They have gotten a grant from the William G. Pomerory Foundation to pay for the historical marker.

The former First Presbyterian Church of Wapakoneta was built back in the early 1860's -- and has been on the national register for nearly 40 years. The building is a rare example of Greek-Revival style architecture in West Central Ohio. The historical society got the property in 1997 and turned it into the museum. After the marker has been cast, it will be placed in front of the building in time for Auglaize County's 175th anniversary in 2023.
