Hollywood has invaded Allen County as several area sites will be locations for a movie shoot.
A Los Angeles film crew was at Bath High School Friday morning doing a 'run through' for their movie "A Walk with Grace." It's a faith-based movie set in Lima. 1984 Shawnee graduate Nick Kellis and his Heartland Image Foundation is spearheading the project. One of the executive producers has ties to the area as his mother is originally from Cairo and explains what the movie is about.
"We have our main character who has been away from Lima for years and actually comes back home, he's forced to come back home and then reconnects with his high school sweetheart and kind of finds his grace back in the small town he left behind," said executive producer Lance Paul.
Paul also has a role in the production. Extras are needed for many scenes in the movie and they are hoping the community will come out to fill those spots. The more people they can get involved the better the final product will be.
"Background makes our movie, people being involved like that from the community they really make our movie, that's what makes things look real and so we're really excited about everybody just rolling out being in the gym, contacting us and letting us know that you want to be a part," commented executive producer April Kennedy.
You can e-mail awwgthemovie@gmail.com to inquire about being an extra in the movie. Actual shooting begins Wednesday, June 7th.
