An investigator from Montgomery County will be looking into a claim of misconduct between an Allen County Sheriff’s Deputy and the Delphos Police Department Officer.
On Wednesday, Delphos Police Chief Mark Slate contacted Allen County Sheriff Matt Treglia about an incident of possible misconduct between a deputy and one of his officers. After there were inconsistencies between the stories, Sheriff Treglia and Chief Slate agree that a third party investigator is the best way to resolve this matter.
A Sargent M.D. Hutchinson, a member of the Montgomery County Sheriff Office, will be doing the investigation, and he says he cannot say anything further than was has been released by the Allen County Sheriff. He adds that the investigation needs to be preserved as well as the rights of anyone who could be considered in violation of employment procedures or in committing a crime.
