A street realignment project in downtown Lima is on schedule and expected to be open before Labor Day.Â
The $350,000Â project includes new curbs, gutters, asphalt, storm drains, water line relocation, and sidewalks. The pouring of the sidewalks have begun and asphalt is to be laid the middle of next week. Jackson Street will now connect with Pine Street enabling Dominion Energy to locate a new 13-million dollar facility in the heart of the city.
Since the area is currently a construction site, and a direct route for many students walking to Lima Senior High School arrangements have been made for students to have access to get to school before the project is complete.
Dominion gave a gift of $300,000Â to the City of Lima for the project.
